The short version
- This site sets no cookies and shows no ads.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts visits and downloads — without cookies and without identifying you.
- If you join the mailing list, your email address is kept at Resend, the email service, so the list can be sent.
- Nobody's information is sold, or shared for advertising.
When you visit
hewy.rocks is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it receives what your browser sends to load a page — your IP address, your browser and the page you asked for — to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits: which pages are opened, from which country, on what kind of device and browser, and which site sent you here. It uses no cookies and doesn't follow you to other sites.
When you download something from the Press page — the press kit, its PDF, a photo — the site counts it: which file, and when. Nothing about who downloaded it.
The fonts and the music on this site come from hewy.rocks itself. Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Kept on your device
The music player remembers a few things in your own browser, so they're still there when you come back: the song and where you were in it, shuffle, repeat and the queue, sound quality, volume, how long you were away (to choose the sound quality), and how often the short notices in the corner have appeared, so they don't repeat too much.
These aren't cookies. They stay in your browser and are never sent to us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
The mailing list
When you sign up, your email address goes to Resend, the service that keeps the list and sends its emails. If you confirm your signup you can also give a first name — that's optional. Both are used only for Hewy Micheaux's mailing list.
Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe. When you unsubscribe, your address stays on record, marked unsubscribed, so you aren't emailed again.
To have your address removed completely, email booking@hewy.rocks.
Resend's privacy policy.
Other sites
Links to Instagram, YouTube, Spotify and the rest take you to those sites, and their own privacy policies apply there. If a page here ever shows another service's player, that player comes from them, and their policy applies to it too.
This site doesn't track you across other sites, so a browser's "Do Not Track" setting doesn't change anything here.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children under 13, and doesn't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has joined the mailing list, email booking@hewy.rocks and the address will be removed.
